ISL Converter grew out of frustration when I realised there were not many lightweight tools for Indian Sign Language learners.
Pipeline in plain words
- MediaPipe grabs hand landmarks and writes them into a tidy CSV.
- TensorFlow trains on top of those landmarks and exports a small saved model.
- A helper script turns predictions into speech with PyTTSx3 so the listener gets instant feedback.
Why I keep iterating
Friends in the deaf community want phrase level support next, so I am extending the data collection scripts to handle short sequences instead of single letters.
